We rescued Baby in April of 2024 from someone who was giving her away for free online, unvaccinated and unspayed. This put her in a very vulnerable situation, so we stepped in to ensure that she would be fully vetted and find a good home. Before coming to us, she was kept in a small cage for 23 hours a day for 2 years (her entire life). This caused her to develop a self harming behavior of chewing herself when she was nervous. Over time with us, she learned that she would never be caged again. She learned what love and safety felt like. She chewed her paws less and less. In October 2024, she found the perfect family with another pit bull to be her companion. They regularly send us updates and she is happy and thriving!

Effie, her mom, and her three brothers were rescued from a junkyard where their mom had been dumped to serve as rodent control. She was not a feral or barn cat: she was a pet dumped outside by neglectful humans and denied food or vet care. I rescued them in a storm; it was a miracle they did not drown. The kittens were only four weeks old. Mom was only one year old, not even an adult herself. Thankfully, despite being underweight, flea infested, and having upper respiratory and yeast infections, all five cats made a full recovery in foster. I had them all vaccinated and sterilized, and they all found amazing homes. Mom and one of the boys went together, the other two boys were adopted by my mom, and Dottie was adopted by my neighbor who has two other cats that Dottie loves. Dottie has her own bedroom and a catio! She is so loved and cared for, as all animals should be.
